“Silver Taiga Foundation” was established in 2002 on the basis of the Syktyvkar Branch of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The foundation’s activities are built around forest protection and its area expansion. The foundation is also engaged in the development of villages and remote areas of the Komi Republic.
In the summer of 2021, Silver Taiga Foundation held an art symposium in the village of Chernysh, joined by artists from Moscow, Yaroslavl, Izhevsk, and Minsk, and created an art space near the Chernysh House of Culture within a week. According to the idea, this was supposed to contribute to the development of tourism in the region.
