'Timur Islamov Foundation' is a Tatar charitable organization that provides psychological and financial support to people with alcohol and drug addiction, patients with HIV and hepatitis C, as well as their close relatives.
Since 2015, the foundation has received funding from the international non-governmental foundation AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and, according to the Ministry of Justice, has also been engaged in political activities. In one of the articles published on the Foundation’s website, its founder writes that 'prisons are full of drug-addicted people who have fallen under punitive measures' and that 'so much room will not be needed in prisons if these people are treated rather than punished'.
