The Altai regional sports and patriotic public organization "Arctic" was established by conversion from the Biysk city public organization "Physical Culture and health sports Club "Arctic" in 2013. The main goal of the organization is the voluntary union of all interested people in active participation in leisure, socio-educational, physical and recreation work.

The "Arctic" was included in the list of "foreign agents" in 2016. Subsequently, the organization was excluded from the list due to the termination of foreign funding.
